Sponsoring youth football teams is somewhat of a tradition at Systems Technology. In fact, we sponsored our first team back in 1989. Our latest beneficiary is the under 13’s team of Rising Stars Youth FC.
Rising Stars Youth FC was set up in 2014, based in Whitstable, Kent. Since then, the young club has been awarded FA Charter Standard status during its first season and in May 2016 won the prestigious Kent FA McDonald’s Charter Standard Club Award.
Keen to discover how our team is doing, we caught up with its coach, Stuart Watts, who was quietly confident about the team’s chances this season.
“We are doing well; we are currently 3rd in the league and with quite a few games in hand. The team is developing every week and are really coming along, which the results show.”
Stuart was careful not to over enthuse, but with such a fantastic first season so far, including an 18 – 0 score line against Margate, we wanted to know his predictions.
“I don’t want to jinx things, but we are playing excellent football at the moment, so let’s see where we are in eight or nine games. Every match is an opportunity for the players to learn and have fun, with the hard-fought lowest scoring games often being the most rewarding.”
Speaking about Systems Technology’s sponsorship, he said:
“To have a prestigious local company sponsoring a small but ambitious youth team means the world to us. We appreciate everything Systems Technology have done for us. The backing has allowed us to buy top quality kit for a new team in a fledgeling club, which we are passionate about making a success.”
We are delighted to hear how the team is progressing, which you can see on the East Kent Youth Team table.
